The partners place a strong emphasis on client service, staff development, and maintaining a supportive and collaborative working culture.Your new role Based in the Hobart CBD and reporting directly to a Partner, this Assistant Manager role involves managing a diverse portfolio of SME to larger clients and playing a key role in delivering accounting and advisory services. Responsibilities include the preparation and review of financial statements and income tax returns, BAS and IAS, SMSF accounting and compliance, and providing proactive business and tax advisory support. You will act as a primary point of contact for clients, build trusted relationships, contribute to improved commercial outcomes, assist with workflow management, and mentor junior staff, operating with a high level of autonomy while retaining direct access to partner support.What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you will be CA or qualified CPA with proven experience in a Senior Accountant or Assistant Manager role within a public practice environment. You will have strong technical knowledge of Australian taxation legislation, experience reviewing work, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the confidence to engage directly with clients and support the development of junior team members.
