As part of a broader digital transformation strategy, they are building next-generation cloud and AI capabilities to enhance operational efficiency, data-driven decision-making and business performance. Hays has been engaged exclusively to appoint a Cloud Engineer who will play a critical role in shaping and supporting the organisation's cloud and AI platform roadmap.Your new role Reporting to the Head of Strategy, you'll join a growing technology function and work closely with an AI Specialist to design, build and support secure cloud platforms, automation capabilities and emerging AI solutions. This is a genuinely hands-on engineering position where you'll be actively building and supporting Azure environments rather than simply governing or overseeing them.Key responsibilities include:Building, maintaining and supporting Azure cloud environmentsDeveloping and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOpsDeploying and supporting AI and automation solutionsBuilding cloud infrastructure to support AI agents and internal automation platformsDeveloping and maintaining scripts using Python, Bash and Azure CLIManaging containerised applications and servicesSupporting PostgreSQL databases and cloud integrationsSupporting SharePoint integrations and cloud servicesDeploying and maintaining cloud-hosted web applicationsCollaborating with internal technology teams and external partnersSupporting solutions through the full life cycle from development to production operationsWhat you'll need to succeed To be successful, you'll bring strong cloud engineering experience and enjoy solving technical challenges in a fast-moving environment where innovation is encouraged.You'll demonstrate:Strong Azure Cloud Engineering experienceAzure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline expertiseStrong Python scripting skillsExperience with Bash, Azure CLI and infrastructure automationExperience with containerisation technologiesA proven track record supporting production cloud environmentsStrong troubleshooting, communication and stakeholder engagement skills Highly regarded experience includes:PostgreSQLAI, machine learning or agentic AI solutionsCloud security and authentication frameworksModern AI application deploymentSharePoint integrationsCloud-hosted web application supportAzure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-400What you'll get in return Permanent full-time position Attractive salary package of $150,000 - $190,000 + 12% super Opportunity to help build an enterprise AI and automation capability from the ground up Work directly alongside senior technology leaders and AI specialists Flexible start and finish times Supportive, collaborative and innovative culture Modern Azure technology stack Long-term career growth within a successful and growing Australian organisation An exclusive opportunity only available through HaysWhat you need to do now This opportunity is being managed exclusively by Hays.
