The Centre aims to ensure that research evidence is at the heart of decision making to enable a thriving Armed Forces Community, which it aims to achieve by several mechanisms including via evidence synthesis, provision of an online searchable repository of published research and policy, regular topical news articles, stakeholder engagement and advice, and an annual conference, to name a few.   The Centre is Led by co-directors Ruth Harris (RAND Europe) and Professor Neil Greenberg (KCMHR), supported by Deputy Director Dr Mary Keeling (RAND Europe), and includes governance advisor (Professor Sir Simon Wessely) to provide strategic direction.  About the role:  We are looking to appoint an organised Research Centre Administrator to be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Centre. The post holder will provide general operational and research administrative support to the Centre for Evidence team. They will organise and minute meetings, support organisation of our annual conference, undertake financial and HR functions such as ordering supplies, paying invoices and assisting with website and social media updates as well as other general operational and administrative tasks. This is a varied and important role in a friendly and multi-disciplinary team; this post would suit an individual looking to develop their administrative/operational career in an academic environment.   This is a part-time post (21 hours per week), and you will be offered a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027. The post will be based at King’s College London, Denmark Hill Campus for 1-2 days a week with the option to work from home for part of the week.    About you:  To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:    Essential criteria Educated to A-level standard (grades A-C) or equivalent Experience in a similar administrative/operational support role, preferably in an academic/academic research environment Excellent organisational skills, ability to plan/prioritise and manage competing demands and deadlines  Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail  Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; professional and confident manner  Excellent all-round IT related skills with experience of using online systems and Microsoft Office Suite  Ability to maintain confidentiality and information security and adhere to data protection legislation. Desirable criteria Experience organising large events/conferences  Experience with programs such as unit4/business world/Worktribe or similar  Interest in working in research within the Armed Forces Community  Experience in website management and maintenance  Experience in social media management and communications    Downloading a copy of our Job Description   Full details of the role and the skills, knowledge and experience required can be found in the Job Description document.
