Centre, Clinical skills facilities and specialist psychology facilities such as XR/VR labs across the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. This is a key role supporting teaching and research activity across the Schools of Health Sciences, Medicine and Psychology.  The successful candidate will act as a main point of contact for technical services, working closely with academic and professional services staff, students, external suppliers and wider University stakeholders. You will ensure that laboratory, Clinical Skills and Simulation spaces, equipment, technical support and health and safety processes are managed to a high standard, enabling excellent teaching, and research outcomes. This role would suit an experienced Clinical skills/Simulation manager or technical services professional with strong leadership skills, sound technical knowledge and a commitment to delivering a safe, efficient and student-focused service. About You The successful candidate will have experience of managing and overseeing clinical skills, simulation, specialist teaching, or research facilities, ideally within a higher education, healthcare, psychology, life sciences, or related environment. You will be confident in coordinating day-to-day operational activity, managing and supporting staff, assisting facility users, and ensuring that facilities are maintained to high standards of safety, compliance, accessibility, and service delivery. Experience of working within teaching or learning environments would be advantageous, along with an understanding of the need to deliver high-quality support in a busy, fast-paced setting. You will be highly organised, able to plan effectively, manage competing priorities, and respond flexibly to changing operational demands. The role will require regular communication with a wide range of stakeholders, including students, academic colleagues, professional services staff, and external partners. You will therefore bring excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a proactive and solutions-focused approach, and the ability to build positive working relationships across a diverse community. Key Skills and Experience The successful candidate will demonstrate: Experience of managing clinical skills, simulation, teaching, research, or other specialist facilities. Strong operational coordination and organisational skills. Experience of managing or supporting staff and facility users. A good understanding of health and safety, compliance, and service standards. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. The ability to manage competing priorities and solve problems proactively. A flexible, adaptable, and solutions-driven approach. Experience in higher education, healthcare, psychology, life sciences, or a related environment would be desirable.
