salary would be £32,185 - £35,066. The University of Westminster is looking for an Assistant Technician in Audio Production to join our technical team, supporting audio and sound production across recording studios, mixing suites, and production spaces. You'll help students and staff get the most from our facilities: setting up and troubleshooting audio equipment, supporting recording sessions and rehearsals and assisting with events, open days and public performances. Day to day, you'll carry out routine maintenance and equipment checks, and provide hands-on guidance to students developing their audio and production skills. We're after someone with practical experience of audio production environments, comfortable working with analogue and digital hardware and DAW software such as Logic or Pro Tools, who's confident supporting students with a friendly, can-do approach. Please note: this is a campus-based role and cannot be undertaken remotely. Regular evening and weekend working is a core part of the post, ensuring students have access to our specialist studios outside of standard teaching hours; a vital part of how we support creative development beyond the classroom. This is a great opportunity to be part of a close-knit technical team working in some of the University's best-equipped audio facilities. In return, we offer a generous annual leave allowance, a strong pension scheme, and genuine investment in your professional development. Full details of the role, responsibilities and person specification are in the attached job description. To apply for this vacancy please click above. The University has adopted Smart Working principles to support and further our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion aims of being an inclusive, collaborative and flexible employer. Further details of Smart Working can be discussed at interview stage. Closing date: midnight on Sunday 27th September 2026 Interviews are likely to be held from Monday 12th October 2026 Administrative contact (for queries only): Recruitment@westminster.ac.uk
