& Pharmaceutical Science, King’s College London to work in the Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry Team (LC-MS). The post holder will have expertise in high resolution (HRMS) and tandem Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and have laboratory experience working with biological samples in an accredited environment. The DCC is the only World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) accredited laboratory in the UK and played a key role as the testing laboratory for the London 2012 Olympics, Glasgow 2022 Commonwealth Games, 2024 UK Athletics Diamond League and 2026 European Athletics Championship events. The DCC is also accredited by the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) as a testing laboratory, in accordance with ISO 17025. Under the supervision of the Lead Analyst (LC-Technologies), the postholder will analyse biological samples in accordance with the WADA International Standard for Laboratories. The post holder will be required to carry out a range of activities using standard laboratory operating procedures (SOPs). The post holder will perform independently sophisticated routine analysis as well as develop methodology in compliance with ISO17025 and WADA International Standards for Laboratories (ISL). Being a team player, you will be involved in the training of more junior analysts. This post is entirely based on campus.  About The Role The post holder will provide recognised laboratory skills in a range of analytical services predominantly using LC-MS and have responsibility for two different routine screens in the LC team (ethyl glucuronide screen and Dilute and Shoot screen) and acting as the Lead for these screens supporting the routine anti-doping analytical service for sports testing. They will carry out data interpretation and evaluation from High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS) and tandem LC-MS/MS instruments in the DCC as a Certifying Scientist. The post holder will be trained in different analytical procedures involving urine and serum samples within the LCMS section and is expected to demonstrate active participation and independent working.  The post holder will have a comprehensive understanding of the quality standards required to work in an ISO 17025 accredited environment particularly the use of reference materials. They will take some responsibility for handling biological samples (booking and splitting) including pH/Specific Gravity measurements. The role will require responsibility for oversight of physical measurements (training others). As a key member of the LC Team you will on behalf of the Lead Analyst conduct confirmation procedures carrying out method development as necessary and acting as a method validation coordinator under the guidance of the Principal Analyst. You will also have a personal training record which will be maintained in accordance with the requirements of UKAS ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation to retain analytical competencies as required by our regulatory bodies. This is a full time and you will be offered an indefinite Contract.
