The opportunity We are looking for an outstanding Senior Conference Producer to join our friendly, collaborative team and play a leading role in shaping some of the most important events in the UK business and management education sector. You will lead the end-to-end production of five major Chartered ABS events each year, developing high-quality, relevant and commercially attractive programmes for our members and wider audiences. These currently include: Chartered ABS Annual Conference India–UK Business School Dialogue Small Business Charter Annual Conference Professional Managers’ Annual Conference Learning, Teaching and Student Experience Conference You will research emerging issues and sector developments, gather insight from members and stakeholders, shape compelling programmes and session formats, and identify and secure high-quality speakers, chairs and facilitators. You will take ownership of the production process from initial programme development through to delivery, working closely with colleagues across events, marketing and communications. You will also manage relationships with speakers, programme partners, sponsors and other stakeholders, ensuring that contributions are effectively integrated into the programme while maintaining its quality and coherence. For the Learning, Teaching and Student Experience Conference, you will additionally manage the call for submissions and assessment process, working with academic reviewers to develop selected contributions into a coherent, multi-stream programme. Alongside these five major events, you will contribute to our professional development programmes, community meetings and other in-person and online events as required. About you You will be an intellectually curious, creative and highly organised event producer who enjoys turning ideas, research and stakeholder insight into engaging and relevant programmes. You will bring: Experience of researching, developing and producing conferences, event programmes, training courses or professional development activities. Experience identifying, approaching, securing and managing speakers, chairs, facilitators or other programme contributors, including senior stakeholders. Excellent research, writing and editorial skills, with experience producing engaging copy for programmes, webpages, speaker communications or promotional materials. Strong project and organisational skills, with experience managing multiple programmes or projects concurrently and maintaining detailed production schedules. Experience working collaboratively with colleagues across areas such as events, marketing and communications. Excellent relationship-management and communication skills, with the confidence to work with senior speakers, partners, sponsors and external stakeholders. A proactive and adaptable approach, with strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and effective when priorities or circumstances change. Knowledge of the UK higher education sector, business schools or the professional development needs of university staff would be desirable. Experience using project-management systems, digital tools or automation to improve production processes would also be an advantage.
